Analysis of students

These students have just begun their study in senior high school, and they have various levels in English learning. Although they are interested in English, yet their initiatives in learning need enhancing and improving; some students still have a strong dependence on the teacher in English learning and are unable to acquire information through different channels. Therefore, during the process of teaching, teacher should stress on training their abilities in acquiring, analyzing and extracting information. In addition, students may encounter some difficulties in understanding the passage because of a lack of the related WWII background knowledge. To solve this problem, teacher should present some related knowledge to the students beforehand. During the learning, several strategies can be adopted such as independent learning, cooperative learning as well as inquiry learning.
