Acquire some useful words and expressions in terms of describing a person.
Learn different aspects which they can use to describe a person.
Ability aims:
Develop their writing ability in using useful words and expressions to make sentences and then write a short passage about a given person.
Write and correct their compositions about describing great persons from several aspects including background information, appearance, education and so on.
Emotional aims：
Be aware of some great quality and character of some great persons
Develop team spirit and a sense of cooperative learning.
Teaching important points
1. Get the students to have a good command of useful words and expressions in describing a person.
2. Enable the students to write a description about a great person
Teaching difficulty:
Get the students to talk about the person they like or admire.
Enable the students to make use of useful words and expressions to make sentences and write short passages.
Teaching procedures:
Step1 Leading-in
Show some descriptions about a teacher and invite the students to guess who he is.
Get the students to tell some important information referring to describing a person from each questions.
Step 2 Pre-writing
Guide the students to think and discuss from what aspects can they use to describe a person.
Step3 Writing
1. Explain two useful sentence patterns to introduce the basic information of a person including birth, name, age, job background and so on....
