Step 1 Warming up

Lead in by the title of this unit and ask the following question:

What is a robot?

Then ask students to talk about robots.

Show some interesting pictures.

Step 2 Pre-reading

Have students discuss in a group:

Imagining you have a chance to own a robot in your house, what do you want it to look like and what do you want it to do?

Step 3 Reading

Skimming

Ask students to look at the picture on page 12 and guess who they are and what they are doing.

Then let students go through the passage and find out the charaters and their relationship.
