Let students master the structure of an argumentative essay and learn how to write an argumentative essay.

Teaching procedure:

Step1:范文欣赏

Now, the topic of whether the students can use mobile phones in school is becoming more and more heated. Different people have different opinions on it. Some are for it and some are against it. On the one hand ,some people think students should be allowed to use mobile phones. With mobile phones, we can learn more things about our outer world more quickly .Mobile phones play an important role among the young, too. In addition, they can help us to communicate with friends that are away from us easily. And they can help us to tell our parents whether we're in danger, in trouble, or meeting with other problems. On the other hand, others do not think so. They think it is bad for students to bring a cellphone. Because the students will use mobile phones to play games, sent text messages, watch movies and so on, which will do harm to their study. And the teacher and students would be disturbed if cellphone ring during the class time. As far as I`m concerned, I think our students should be allowed to use mobile phones in school, anyhow, its advantages have an advantage over its disadvantages.

设计意图:通过范文欣赏,引导学生进入本节课主题:辩论型议论文写作。

Step2:高考指南

高考议论文类型

1.评论型(commentive):

针对一个问题、一种现象进行分析和解决

2.辩论型(argumentative):

针对一个问题或现象提出不同观点

设计意图:对高考议论文类型进行简要分析,让学生认识到本节课的重要性。

Step3:Students read the given essay again and summarize the main idea of each para and then summarize its structure.

Para1: To bring in the topic. 提出问题:引出辩论主题

Para2: Opinions on one side. 分析问题:不同观点对比

Para3: Opinions on the other side.

Para4: My opinion. 解决问题:说明自己观点

设计意图:通过范文研读分析,熟悉辩论型议论文的文章结构。

Step4:Read the passage para by para and pick out the sentences which can be commonly used. And make an model pattern of an argumentative essay.

议论文模板

We had a heated discussion about/on .... Students’ views/ideas/opinions on it vary/differ from person to person.
