Step1 Lead in

Show pictures to students and ask them the following questions, which lead to the topic, The Feast in 18’000

①. What does the picture remind you of ?

②.What will people do here?

③.Can you guess what would be eaten on the feast in 18’000BC?

Step2 Reading

1.Skim the passage and find out the answers to the following questions.

①.What’s the relationship between Dahu and Lala?

②. What kind of food did Lala’s family prepare for the feast?

③. What jobs did Dahu do?

④.What jobs did Lala do?

Suggested answers:

①. Husband and wife.

②. Nuts, fruit, fish, the deer and pig meat.

③. Dahu:catch_fish, repair stonetools, make scrapers and axe-heads.

④. Lala: collect fruit and nuts, prepare food.

2.Scan the passage again and decide whether the statements are true or false.

①.Lala’s family groups usually lived together.
