Step 1 Get ready for class
Step 2 Revision
The teacher tells students what her problem is. Ask them to give advice. Say, every day I spend quite a long time waiting for a bus. So I am tired of this. I want to buy a new car,but I haven’t enough money. What should I do?
The students can give their suggestions freely. Revise the expressions of giving suggestions.
Step 3 Practice
Show different pictures to students. Get them to look at the screen and talk about the problems. Discuss the pictures with their classmates. And give the right pieces of advice. At the same time, use different forms of expressions.
Step 4 Pair work
Growing up can be difficult. The students may have many problems. Suppose one is a call-in center helper, the other is a problem student. Make up conversations in pairs. Ask some pairs to role play in class.
Step 5 Group work
Ask different students to tell the class about their problems in English study .They can do this task in small groups. Later the group leader reports their members ’ideas. Finally, see which group is the best one.
Step 6 Reading
Ask students to read Simon’s letter carefully. They try to grasp the main information of the passage. After that, talk about the boy’s problems .Then read a proposal letter. Pay attention to the forms.

Get each student to do a self-assessment. They can check what they’ve learned in this class. The teacher hands out each student a piece of paper, and they can draw a happy face or a sad face about every item.
Step 10 Summary
In this class, students can revise how to ask for the problems and practice the different forms of giving advice. They can do some reading, speaking and writing exercises.
