II. Teaching steps

Step 1 Lead-in

Students watch a short video.

Step 2 Presentation

Students look up information about Qomolangma, the Nile, the Caspian sea and the Sahara on Internet, then finish the task of 1a.

Students learn the new words in pairs on QQ (QQ group “Enjoy English”).

Study numbers. (teach how to read numbers and compare them)

4. Listening (1b)

Step 3 Practice

Use the comparatives and superlatives with adjectives to describe Qomolangma, the Nile, the Caspian, the Sahara.

Listening (2a and 2b)

1) Talk about some geography knowledge about China.

2) Finish the task of 2a and 2b.

Step 4 Consolidation (target language output activity)

Students work in groups and discuss which place is best for our school trip. Then choose several groups to present in the front.

Step 5 Homework

To remember the new words and expressions.

To write your reasons why you choose the place for our school trip.
