Teaching Methods:

1. Audio visual method: mainly through the whiteboard display, teacher questions, students answer to provide students with the opportunity to see, listen to, say, practice opportunities

2. Question and answer method and situational communication method: use whiteboard display a variety of pictures, let the students use these pictures to communicate, let the students learn by doing , obtain information in practice ,and learn English.

Teaching Procedures:

Step 1.Lead-in

1)Look at the picture about the dark, lead into the project of this unit .Then show the teaching objectives.

2) Vocabulary training

Ask the students to answer questions based on the information provided by the pictures

The use of "used to" is the basis of the sentence. When the students answer these questions, they will show the adjectives of appearance and personality. Then finish 1a

( The big screen shows some pictures of the stars and guides the students to describe their appearance )

Step 2 .Preparations

T: Let’s look at the picture ,and guess who they are?

Ss: They are .....

Show the students some pictures of stars’ childhood. Ask the students: Who are they ? Then show the pictures now .

Step 3. Sentence training

1) To look at the picture, ask the question in depth, and the teacher can compare the former and the present.

t: what’s this?

s: it’s a photo.

t: who is it?

s: it’s…

t: She used to be short, didn’t she?

s: yes.

she used to be thin ,right?

she used to have short hair. outgoing ,etc.
