Step1. Lead in

Play an English song called Childhood.

Have students give some answers.

①Did you use to listen to the song when you were children?

②What’s the name of the song?

Lead in the topic and start the class.

Step2. Presentation

1. Show some pictures and make the students learn about the usage of “used to”.

2. Remind the students to know when we talk about what we often did in the past, we can use the sentence pattern “used to”.

Step3. Practice.

1. 1a&1b Finish 1a and 1b. Ask some students to speak out their answers.

2. Play a game. Make several students stand in a line. Ask the students to put one finger of their left hand under their neighbor’s hand and put their right hand on their neighbor’s finger. They will hear a story Three Pigs. When they hear “used to”, they must put their finger back and catch their neighbor’s finger.
