Teaching procedures:

Step1.Lead-in

Use a short video of Sri Lanka which shows a running Internet celebrity train to start the topic about travel and transportation and stimulate interest about travel.

Step2.Brainstorm

Write travel plan for the following vacation.

Step3.Listening

Step4.Free talk

Show them some pictures about travel and let them talk about the meanings of traveling,then write them down.

Step5.Reading.

(1).Match the main idea with each paragraph and choose the right answers.

(2).Choose the right answers to fill in the blanks and underline the key words and sentences.

(3)Discuss with group members to set four choices for “Which is the best title for this passage?”on one piece of paper,then exchange the paper to let another group choose the right answer.

Step6.Writing

Work with partners to complete a simple traveling strategy according to the given information.

Pre-writing

Show them the key points. Read the checking list to check their works themselves better.

While-writing

Ask students to pay attention to the key points, use better sentence structures and avoid mistakes as possible as they can.

Post-reading

Let students exchange their writing with each other and recommend 3 most successful works to show.

Step7.Homework

(1)Post their traveling strategies onto 'RED' ;

(2)Give comments each other.
