T: Look, where is it? (Ss: Beijing) May Day is coming. I’m going to Beijing for a vacation.

Review the sentences of U2 , ask and say

How are you going to Beijing?

Where are you going to stay?

What are you going to do?

Bring in the Wilsons and their trip plan.

T: They are my friends. They are going to have a vacation. Do you know their plan? Let’s listen to the tape and write down the plan. OK? ( PPT, a form and a picture)

Play the tape, have Ss repeat and talk about the passage. (Bring in the new words, e.g. cycling events, Olympic Park, the Great Wall)

Guide Ss to fill the blank.

Using the book, and have Ss read the questions of NO.2 Read and write. Give Ss time to write down the answers, and then have some to read out the answer..

Look at NO.3, have Ss read the sentences out, and then have Ss to say T or F together.

Look at NO.4, have Ss read the phrases and circle three.

T: Please use the phrases to write your plan on NO.5

Group work. Have Ss finished NO.5 and read it in groups.

1. Review the main words and sentences for helping Ss to make their vacation plan.

2. Bring in the model, and have Ss write their own plan.

3. Have Ss to read out their plan.

4. PPT, give some travel tips and signs for Ss.
