Passage 2

The city mouse and the country mouse

There were two mice. They were friends. One mouse lived in the country, and the other lived in the city.

Once a time, the country mouse met the city mouse. He said, " Come and see me at my house in the country. " So the city mouse visited the country mouse. The city mouse said, "Your food is not good. Your house is not comfortable, either. Look at your house, why do you like living in a such small hole in the field?” So, the city mouse invited his friend to his house in the city, “Come and live in the city with me. You can live in a big and modern stone house there. You can also eat plenty of nice food.”

So the country mouse went to the city and lived in the stone house with his friend. It’s a very beautiful house. There were so much food in the kitchen. All the food looked really delicious. But when they were eating, they heard a terrible voice. The city mouse cried, "Run! Run! The cat is coming!”

After five minutes, the cat went out. Then they came back to the house. But the country mouse said, "I don’t like living in the city. I like living in my small hole in the field. It is happier to live in the country than in the city.”
