Part5.Teaching Procedures

Step1. Warming up

Greeting

T: Good morning! Happy New Year!

Play a game “Monkey says”

It’s the year of monkey. Monkeys are very clever. Let’s play a game “Monkey says”.

Monkey says:” touch your nose” “Touch your head”

[Purpose: To produce a warm and relaxing teaching atmosphere and lead the students to know their body. ]

Step2. New presentation

Teacher shows a monkey that it has a cold and asks the students what’s the matter? Teacher acts the monkey and says: I’m not feeling well. Then Teacher shows the title Lesson 1 I’m not feeling well.

New contents:

Teacher shows them some pictures about patient, and teach them how to read.

T: Look at picture1/2/3/4. What’s the matter?

S: have a cold/cough/fever/headache/toothache

Teacher should pay more attention about these pronunciation

/'fi:v?/ /k?f/ /'hede?k/ /'tu:θe?k/.

Teacher will lead students to learn how to remember the words.

Head + ache=headache tooth+ ache= toothache
