What’s the use of “be”in the given phrase?

S:It can be divided into three words”am ,is , and are”.

 Step 2 Lead-in

T:So it can be changed into three phrases”am going to ,is going to,and are going do”.Now who can make up some new sentences with these phrase?

S1:I am going to play football after school.

S2:My mom is going to Dalian this weekend.

S3:We are going to have a picnic this Saturday.

T:Well,now let’s look at the pictures on the screen.Do you know them?Where are they?
