Moral education:
Help students know some matters need attention when they go to the zoo.
Analysis of the students: Students of the grade 1 are curious and enthusiastic about English, but they can’t focus on their attention for a long time. So teachers should try their best to design some kinds of vivid and interesting activities and games to arouse their attention and interest.
Teaching aids: courseware, animal cards, etc.
Teaching methods: situational approach, task-based method, TPR, etc.
Teaching steps:
Step1. Pre- task
Sharp eyes: Look and find out the animals quickly.
Divide the class into four groups.
Play another game: Listen and guess the cartoon names.
Watch the video about animals and say the animals one by one.
Step2. While-task
Show the new word “animals” and help students pay attention to the pronunciation of “s”.
Showing the CAI, teacher gets students to guess “What animals will go to the zoo to have a beauty contest?”.
Teach the new words about animals through guessing, listening and doing actions and help them to express the animals that they like by using the sentence: ‘’I like……”
Get students pronounce the singular and plural forms of nouns correctly.
Ask students to match the right clothes with the different animals.
Get students to vote by ballot and find out the most beautiful animal.
Have students match the prize with the animals correctly.
Step3. Post-task
Introduce the pet shop and get students choose “What animals do you like?”.
Showing the CAI, teacher tells students the matters need attention when they go to the zoo.
Step 4. Homework
Read the new words after recorder after class.
Make a funny animal book.
