Step 1 Revision and lead-in.

Play the song” traffic rules.”

Revise the traffic rules.

. Step 2 Presentation

1. Look at the title of the passage in 1a. Guess what the passage is about.

2.Make the students learn the new words with the help of the word cards: safe, hurt, lose, accident , obey ,rule, cross, sign, before,both, third, last, careful .

3.Continue to learn some useful expressions: a traffic accident, get hurt, lose one’s life, look left/right, cross the street, it‘s good to…

4. Play the flash of 1a, Ask the students to watch and understand the meaning of the passage.

5. Read 1a and fill in the blanks in 1b . Then check the answers.

6. Get the students to retell 1a based on 1b, using first, second, third and last.

7. Work in groups. Act out how to cross the street.
