Step 1 Warming-up ( 3m ) 热身环节

Greet to the students and show the topic of the lesson.

Sing a song “mascots”

Look and match. Line the pictures with the words. (平板:看图连线)

设计意图:歌曲激发学生兴趣,快速进入主题;平板连线帮助学生复习所学知识。

Step 2 Pre-reading (5m) 读前活动

Let students guess the teacher’s mascot.

Show the pictures of Birds Nest and Water Cube, lead students know the Beijing Olympic Games.

Let students watch the video of Beijing Olympic Games on their pad and ask students what they think of it. (平板:自主观看视频,思考问题对北京奥运会的看法)

Play the video of the Beijing Olympic mascots.

设计意图:读前首先让学生猜测老师的吉祥物,激发学生好奇心,推进下一步学习。然后通过图片和视频渗入文化背景知识,联系课本知识,拓开学生眼界,引导学生进入本课主题—北京奥运会吉祥物。

Step 3 While-reading (5m) 读中活动

1. Listen and read paragraph 1 of the passage.

2. Listen and read paragraph 2 of the passage, then present key words “popular, bring good luck, everywhere”, let students retell the key sentences with the aid of the pictures.

设计意图:读中以朗读、跟读和掌握重点词汇为主,通过图片复述,小组比赛的方式让学生充分掌握短文内容。
