Have Ss sing the song with actions following the music.

Review letters and sounds.

Presentation&Practice

(10mins)

1)Introduce the new friend: “ar”

(T:We have new friends:ar. They are the pirates,so they will make the sound /ar/)

2)listen to the sound and practice.

Activity1:Listen and follow to say.

Activity2: Golden fingers:Teacher shows one finger, students make the sound once; Teacher shows two fingers, students make the sound twice.

3)Listen to the sounds and choose the right sound .

(Teacher clicks the pictures .Students listen to the sounds and choose the ‘ar’ sounds)

4)Point and say the sound.

5)Make the words .

(Teacher shows the letters and have students try to make the sound of the words.Then teacher explain the meanings.)

6)Match and Spell

Have one student match the a word with the picture and spell the word with all the students.

7)Brainstorm: try to think out more words with “ar”.
