While- task 1. Students try to find the first place deleted from the novel and compare the text with the novel, then discuss the deleted sounds and actions in the novel. To appreciate the language describing the sounds and actions, and the humor in the language. 2. Students try to find the second place deleted from the novel and compare the two, then discuss the deleted verbs in the novel. To appreciate the language describing the sharp contrast, and then the humor in the language. 3. Students try to find the third place deleted from the novel and compare the two, and then discuss the deleted all sorts of toys in the novel.

Students in groups have a discussion on:

1. the second impression on Tom Sawyer and Ben according to the description in the novel;

2. the theme of the story.
