Practice Step 1 Watch the flash and answer questions (the first part of the song). To elicit the object clause introduced by what/if.

To help Ss focus on the conjunctions and word order. Step 2

Rewrite sentences with object clauses introduced by what/if. Make sentences and then change them into object clauses. Step 3 Watch the flash and fill in the blanks (the second part of the song). To help students better understand some of the lyrics.

To elicit the conjunction whether. Step 4 Use object clauses to explain some of the lyrics

(I wondered…/ I wanted to know…).

Step 5 Make sentences with object clauses: I wonder /want to know …”

(if/whether, what, when, why…)

(pair work)

To encourage students to use sentences with object clauses to express worries, doubts and hopes in life. Step 6 Discover language by reading an e-mail and correcting the errors.

To guide students to conclude the essential elements of the object clause. Production Complete the report by using the sentence structure “I once …, but now I …”

(group work) To encourage students to use sentences with object clauses to express growing pains and gains. Assignment Make at least 3 sentences by using the structure “I once…, but now I …”.

Finish the exercises on the workbook. (Page 70/ I, II)

教学设计说明:

本课的宾语从句教学为第二教时,此前学生已学习宾语从句的概念、初步掌握that引导的宾语从句并知晓主句和从句的时态变化规律。本节课以学生耳熟能详的歌曲Que Sera Sera作为语言输入,激发学生运用语法的意识和能力,体验感悟语法规则和语言规律。鼓励学生自行归纳总结语言规则,在“说”的基础上以“写”为最终的语言产出形式,体现了高年级学生的学习特征。
