Step 1:

1) warm-up : play a short video about their school life to draw their attention.

Step 3 About the reading

lead-in: we all need friends when we fall ill. And this is my friend----Baymax. (watch a short video about Baymax)

Read quickly and tell me what happened.

Read quickly and find the best title.

Read and Mark T or F.

Watch a short video, Ss read after it while watching.

Mind-map: the story can be divided into 3 parts----in the park, in the hospital and leave the hospital. Ss read the article and fill in the blanks, check the answers in groups and then read them together.

Acting time: give Ss 4 minutes to prepare and then they can act it out.

(At Michael’s home) Friendship: Michael has to stay at home for a week, what can we do for him? Ss can say something to Michael and act it out.

Inspiration: something about friendship on the Internet, some sweet tips not only for Michael but also for our friends in daily life.

A short video about friendship----our classmates, our parents and teachers, friends from other countries, humans and animals. Friendship is like a ship, true friendship will never sink. We’ll learn to love and help each other.
