Analysis of the students:

1.The students are in Grade 6,they are active and curious, interested in English.After learning English for three years and a half.They have some English background knowledge.So the teachers should attach importance to the communication with them and provide them the chances of using English.

2.The pupils usually use intuitive thinking in their studies.So the teachers should present more pictures and situations for them to help them learn English.

Teaching aims:

1.Knowledge aims

(1)Enable the students to master the following new words and phrases:

library,left, end, go down..., turn left, at the end

(2)Get the students to be familiar with the sentence pattern:

Is/Are there ...?

Yes, there is./Yes, there are.

2.Ability aims:

(1)Help them to understand the dialogue better and improve their skills of listening ,speaking and reading.

(2)Enable the students to ask for directions and offer help in English.

(3)Foster students’ ability of communication and innovation.

(1)Encourage the students to help others.

(2)Foster the students’ consciousness of good cooperation and proper competition.
