【教学重难点】

重点：能够能听懂、会说、会读词汇和句子： Woolsthorpe Manor, England, thought, discover, gravity, Newton, alive. Why did the apple fall down? Why didn’t it fly up to the sky? 利用图片读懂故事，体会牛顿善于发现、勇于探究的科学精神。

难点: 单词Woolsthorpe，discover等单词的读音；复述故事。

Before reading

Greetings. Good morning, children. Today I bring some cards about apples, if you do well, you can get some. Children, come on!

【设计意图】本节课的关键词是Apple，因此本节课用印有apple的宝贝卡来进行评价，激励学生积极思考。

T: Children, when you see this word, what are you thinking about?出示PPT.

Ss: I’m thingking about apple juice, iPhone, iPad, apple tree, Jobs…

【设计意图】出示单词‘Apple’，提出问题，发挥学生的想象，让学生从不同角度、不同方向、多渠道探索和思考各种可能性，培养了学生的发散思维。

T: Children，出示PPT, these three apples changed the world, ‘Adam and Eve’, ‘Newton’，‘Steve Jobs’. This class we’ll learn a story about Newton. (教读单词Newton),提出问题：What do you know about Newton? 出示一本书的封面显示课题 ‘Newton’s Apple Tree.’ Why does it say Newton’s apple tree? After this class you’ll know it.

【设计意图】出示与苹果有关的‘Adam and Eve’, ‘Newton’，‘Steve Jobs’，开拓了学生的视野，提问学生对牛顿了解多少，激活了学生原有的知识和生活经验，引出话题，并提出质疑，激发学生阅读的兴趣。

三、 While reading

1. Read the pictures quickly, then find out the right sentences for the pictures. 出示五幅图片，预测图片内容并为其找到合适句子。

【设计意图】把课文根据动画拆分成五个部分与五幅图，降低了文本的难度，学生通过图文搭配对文本有了初步的了解。

2. Read the story together.

1) 出示第一张图片，提出问题Where was Newton?，引导学生观察图片并回答。Ss: In England.T: Yes, he was in the east of England. Where did he live? 引导学生读文本第一句话 Ss: He was in Woolsthorpe Manor. 教读Woolsthorpe Manor，并利用两张图片拓展manor。 出示牛顿树下读书的图片，提出问题What was Newton doing that day? 引导学生观察图片并回答He was reading under the apple tree.(听录音跟读)
