1.review the words about some places in unit2, such as sports centre, square, park…

2.Put the word card on the map of the city on the blackboard, and practice “There be ” sentences structure at the same time.

3.Listening. Play the tape for the students to listen and match.After finishing all, have a check. Check each other in class.

Step3presentation

Brain-storm: let Ss to discuss some fun places in Lanzhou, in order to elicit the verb phrases, such as eat delicious food, fly kites, see a film…

Pre-writing:Practice the phrases in oral, and let Ss guess what kind places are there. T will make sentence with those phrase, such as: We often read books there, what place is it? or We like to play sports there, what place is it?

3.while-writing:

Describe the place with the sentence structure “there be…”, “It’s …”, “We often…, We like to …” There will be some writing mistakes in the sentences in order to let Ss notice these mistakes carefully.

Look at the picture on computer, let Ss choose the one they want. Then describe the place in oral at the first time, at the second and third time, teacher and the Ss to write some sentence about the place on the map together. Ss can write their words on the handout.

post-writing:

1.T show the writing to Ss, encourage Ss to write a short passage about the map of the city within 4minutes.

2. At last, the teacher invites students to read their passage to the class.
