Lead students to learn some common words and sentence patterns for English writing.
Analysis of teaching material:
This period is mainly to help students learn how to arrange a short passage according to the requirements during the examination. All the teaching contents are concluded from the past teaching experience, and some of them come from students who got full marks in the English examination. These teaching materials are very helpful and they can serve as guidance in the learning practice. All the writing skills students need to master are related to writing strategies. As long as they are familiar with the strategies, they can write their own articles smoothly.
Analysis of students:
When it comes to English composition, many students may feel stressed and don’t know how to start. Even if they know how to begin, they don’t know what to continue next. Some of them are poor in English words, which may make it hard for them to write out their ideas. Meanwhile, some still do poorly in writing while they have mastered a large amount of English words. The fact is that they lack some writing skills, or we also call them strategies.
Key points and difficult points.
Key points: mainly to teach students how to arrange a short passage, and make them try to keep some writing words in mind as many as possible.
Difficult points: to make them master the key skills and then they can express themselves fluently and beautifully.
Teaching methods:
Discussion, task-based activities and presentation.
Teaching procedures:
Step1. Lead-in
To begin this period, the teacher will introduce the importance of English writing by show several pictures on the screen.
Step2. Brainstorm
To introduce the topic and show the writing tips, the teacher will encourage students come up with some writing strategies they always apply, and then show the complete structures on the screen.
Step3 Translation
Lead students to translate several sentences to acquire some sentence patterns, which will help students write their owe compositions later in this period.

2. 面对困难时不要轻易地说放弃。
Don’t say ‘give up’ when you are faced with difficulty. (when you are in trouble)

I hold the firm belief that you are bound to succeed if you put your heart into it.
4. 我们应该了解自己并且弄清楚如何有效学习。
We should have a good knowledge of ourselves and make it clear how to study efficiently.
