Part I: Analysis of the teaching content(教学内容分析 )

The topic of this module is being volunteer in Beijing Olympics. This unit provides information on what is volunteer, the reasons for being volunteer and the experience as a volunteer.

As the main teaching material, it outlines the theme on this module and plays a significant part. If students can learn this lesson well, they will not only acquire considerable information, but also improve the building of their characters.

Part II: Teaching objectives(教学目标)

基于高中英语课堂应充分发挥育人功能,发展学生的语言能力,文化品格和学习能力等英语学科核心素养,落实立德树人根本任务,本堂课的教学目标为:

语言能力

By the end of the class, students can remember some useful words

and expressions, like realize the value of one’s life, gain self-confidence, increase social awareness and expand social circle.

文化品格

With so many video materials provided on this topic, students can

understand what kinds of volunteers they are in our life and what do they to do help others, which will broaden their horizon and will be touched by their behaviors, thus promoting their passion for being volunteers to make efforts to help others. Through the lesson, it can increase their social awareness.

学习能力

Provide students with group activities which can make them learn to cooperate with others and carry out “exploratory learning”. Over the activities, I can monitor their learning state and process, putting emphasis on learning by themselves, learning by cooperating, and learning by exploring. In the process of speaking time, they practise their speaking ability. They are expected to create a similar writing in the same way which interests them most as homework.

Part III: Analysis of the teaching objects(教学对象分析)

The target students are the ordinary ones in Senior two in Chuanwei High School in Changshou, Chongqing.

 1)They have a passion for studying English

 2)They have a good command of communicative skills and verbal skills.

Potential problems: (可能存在的问题)

1)They can not express their ideas freely due to lack of vocabulary
