In this period, the section “Starting out” mainly introduces how Lu Xun changed the way of life, which helps to guide students to think about the influence of different choices on life.

This essay in the section “Understanding ideas”describes the extraordinary life experiences of American and Scottish writers, and discusses how they make important decisions at important moments in their lives.Through reading and thinking, students can improve their language skills and deepen their understanding of the subject of the unit.

1. Lead students to talk about their views on different life choices by watching the video and looking at the pictures.

2. Guide students to get the main information of the text and enable students to understand how to face the future based on their own growing experience.

3. Help students to master the structure of discourse and language features, master and use the relevant language to express themselves.

4. Guide students?to?understand the importance of a positive attitude towards life, and think about how to choose the right life path.

1. Lead the students to actively talk about the impact of different life choices in class.

2. Develop students’ reading ability and master the structure as well as the features of argumentative writing.
