1.掌握核心语句“What’s your hobby?” “My hobby is collecting maps.”以及四个词组collect toy cars, collect picture cards, collect maps, collect stamps。。

2.结合已有的语言基础,在实际语境中灵活表达关于爱好的问答。

教学准备:

教学光盘,教学课件,设计成盒子样式的板书磁贴,Kate 和Li Yan的头像, 盒子实物以及课堂中所涉及到的邮票,地图等实物道具。

教学过程:

Part 1. Warming up.

Greetings and general introduction.

Let the students find Li Yan in a box on the blackboard. Tell them Li Yan has some picture cards for each group, encourage them to do well in class and get more cards.

Show the pictures to the students. Let them say the verb or the phrase of each picture.

Show all the pictures to the students, let them choose one, answer the teacher’s question about hobbies.

Let the students say the topic of this class: our hobbies.

Part 2. Presentation

Let the students open the box on the screen. Do a puzzle of “map”. Learn the new word.

Learn the phrase “collect maps”, and the expression of “map of …”.

Ask the students how to talk about Kate’s hobby. Teach them to ask and answer. “What’s your hobby? My hobby is collecting maps.”

Learn the phrases “collect picture cards., collect toy cars, collect stamps.

let the students talk about the four friends’ hobbies with the four phrases and the sentence pattern on the blackboard.

Ask the colours of the toy cars, and the picture cards, teach the word “colourful”. Then show them some colourful things. Ask the students to talk about those phrases in chains.

After teaching and practicing, give the students a real box. At first, open the box, and show them the colourful rulers, dolls and so on. Let one group choose one, and then ask and answer about hobbies in chains.

Let the students ask the teacher about hobby, and teach them that in our daily life, we can collect many kinds of things except the things we learned from the box.

Part 3: Practice

Play a video about the students’ daily life. Teach them how talk about their hobbies like “My hobby is reading/singing/dancing…”

Pause the video, and ask one student to ask the one who is in the picture. Ask and answer one by one.

Show the picture of swimming, lead the students to learn the chant of Lesson 8.

1)Let the students read the chant quickly and circle the words with “oo”。

2)Ask them to read the three words loudly and focus on the pronunciation |u:|

3) Play the chant, let the students follow and chant loudly.

4) Ask them to think about some words with “oo” and pronounces as |u:|, for example, too, zoo, room, food。

4. Show another box, teach the students different ways to talk about one’s hobby.
