1), Explain to the class that today’s lesson looks like an online chat room. Discuss how today’s technology allows us to communicate in many different ways.

Ask: How do you communicate with others?

Student A: Make telephone calls.

Student B: Go online.

Teacher: Right! You can go online. You can communicate in many different ways online. For example: you can send an e-mail. You can go on QQ, and so on.

2), Check prevision

Ask: Have you previewed this lesson?

Do some exercises to check.

NO.1, Translate the phrases in this lesson.

NO.2, Finish the sentences.

Step4. Recite the text.

Teacher: What are Jenny’s favourite Chinese foods/dishes?

Students: Beijing Duck and Lanzhou noodles.

Teacher: Why are these dishes special, do you know?

Help the students answer this question.

Students: They have a lot of history behind them. Beijing Duck is really a Chinese treasure. It takes a lot of work, but the end product is worth it. Lanzhou noodles are long hand-made noodles. They look good and taste great.

1), Ask the students to complete the fill-in-the-blanks activity independently.

2), Students can check their answers in groups, and then as a class.
