Step 1 Leading in

1. Greetings. (Students can have a relax and lead to the next question)

2. Lead in by the question ”Did you have your breakfast?” Then tell students” I had 4 hamburgers this morning. I was starving, but when I was eating the fourth hamburger, I remembered a film I watched before. Do you want to watch it?”

3. Students will enjoy the video of “Spirited Away” and think about a questions”What happened to the little girls parents.”

(The film of “Spirited Away” can lead to today’s topic and students can think about the sentence”You are what you eat” )

4. Write down the title of lesson 37, You Are What You Eat.

Step 2 Presentation

Show the students some pictures of different kinds of food, like vegetables, fruit, fast food, ect, and ask them to distinguish healthy food and junk food.

(Students can have a good knowledge of different kinds of food, and distinguish what is good for us, and what is bad us. )

Ask students to talk about their favourite food.

(Have a simple understanding of their eating habits.)

3. Show a picture of Danny and ask students what Danny’s favourite food is.

Step 3 Reading

Listening. Watch the video and think what is Danny having for lunch? (In this part, students can develop their listening skills and try to catch key information.)

Reading.

Read the dialogue with their deskmates and discuss the questions.

How many donuts did Danny eat yesterday evening?

(Explain as usual. And lead to the phrase “bad eating habits”)
