1. Understand and grasp the information about hobby.

2. Enable students to talk about their hobbies.

激发学生学习英语的兴趣。

教学过程

Step 1. Review and preview.

Oral practice and check some words and phrases of lesson 37.

Step 2. Lead in.

The teacher present the title “What's a hobby?”and let the students talk about it in group.

After the students’ talking, the teacher summarize:A hobby is something you enjoy doing. A hobby is not a job or a school subject. It's not something you need to do. It's just something you like to do . It's a great joy.

Let the students show their hobbies to the class. Ask them to introduce their hobbies in detail. Are there any students who have the same hobbies? Let them exchange their experience.

Come to “THINK ABOUT IT”

Work in group and talk about it, then answer them.

Step 3. New lesson.

No. 1 Let the students ask questions about the transportation. Such as: what do you take if you go on a trip to Beijing? Why? Can you describe your favourite trip to the class?

No. 2 Learning lesson 37 by themselves in groups.

1. Listen to the passage and correct pronunciation, understand the dialogue meaning.

2. Read the lesson and write true or false. (At first, read the questions and know the meaning. Second, read the dialogue silently and find the answers to the questions. )(Listening once or three times for finishing off number 1 of Let’s Do It.)

No. 3 Reading and writing.

1. Read the dialogue one sentence by one sentence and find something that it’s important or you don’t understand it. Then ask them to read the dialogue aloud in pairs and later pick out the useful phrases. Explain the key phrases.

2. Read the text again and repeat after it. After a while, ask some students to read the text loudly in roles.

3. At last, Write down something important on your notebook and explain.

No. 4 Work in groups. Finishing off number 3 of Let’s Do It. Fill in the blanks with the correctforms of the given verbs.
