Powerpoint 制作的课件,图片等;视频;课文录音

教学过程

Step 1:Pre-reading

Greet each other then ask students some questions to lead in today’s lesson:

T: How do I feel today? Am I happy or sad?

Ss: Happy.

T: How do you know this?

Ss: You are smiling.

T: Yes. I am smiling. So you know I am happy. (Thumbs-up to the class.) What do I mean?

Ss: Good!

T: Yes, you did good job. Just now, I did speak any words, but you know my meaning well. Why? Because I used body language. Body language is simple and useful in our daily life. Meanwhile, it is commonly used in the world. Let’s watch a video clip to see the body language used by people abroad.

The teacher shows a clip of Tom and Jerry. Ask students to talk about the body language in the clip.

Compare the body language talked before class with that in the clip, let student think about it: Is body language the same in all cultures around the world?

(设计意图:以生活中常见的手势与表情引出body language 这一话题,同时以美国动画片中的体态语作为对比,引出不同文化中体态语含义是否相同这一问题,导入新课。)
