1.Warming-up

Review the 3 cartoons in Unit 1.

2.Brain storm

Show more cartoons,ask the SS

What’s your favourite?

Why?

3.Leading-in

Show pictures of Snoopy,Tintin, Nemo and Monkey King . SS answer

Who is it?

What country are they from?

Vocabulary

List the new and key phrases in the passage,make sure the SS understand them.

5.Skimming

SS read the passage quickly and do the exercise on page 36 to find out the main idea of the passage.

6.Scanning

SS read again and answer

Which cartoons are older? Which are more modern?

What does Tintin do?

Encourage the SS to figure out how old the characters are.

Reading for details

SS read the passage a third time, and finish the exercise on Page 37.

Check the answers.

Writing training

How to write about a cartoon?

Divide the 8 exercises on Page 37 into 4 parts: about the hero,the writer,the main experience in the story and the comment. Ask the students to pay attention to the tenses we should use to talk about the 4 parts.

Ask the SS to write a passage about a cartoon .
