【教学步骤】

1.Enjoy a song

Enjoy the song and fill in the blanks

Think: why does the singer write the song?

Purpose:To let the students know what we are going to learn today and arouse their interest in this topic.

2.Talk:do you have the awareness of environmental protection?

Do you think the environmental protection is important or unimportant?

What will you do if you see rubbish on the ground?

What kinds of recyclable things do you know?

Purpose: To check whether the students have the awareness of environmental protection.

3.Learn the ways of English word formation.

Show an example of “renewable”, and learn about prefix, root and suffix.

Ask students to recycle the words

Purpose: To learn about the ways of English word formation

4.Listen and check the true sentences

Purpose: To learn more about the environmental protection and think about what is wrong and what is right.

5.Read

Read the passage about the Earth Hour and answer questions.

1).When is Earth Hour held each year?

2).What do people do during Earth Hour? Why?

3).When was the first Earth Hour held?

4).Are there more and more cities taking part in the event?

Purpose: To learn about the Earth Hour and encourage them to launch an event to call on more people to join in.

6.Write a proposal

A proposal:reasons/ measures/ hope

Purpose: To use what students have learnt to call on more people to save our world.

7.Homework

1.Search for more information about the environmental protection on the Internet. Write a better proposal.

Purpose: To learn more about the environmental protection and ask more people to join in it.
