Step1. Pr-reading.

1. Ask the Ss to look at the picture and ask them what will they say to friends and teachers when they graduate form the school?

2. Show some words of students said to the English teacher.

Step 2 Reading

1.Learn new words.

Students try to rad the words by themselves, then teacher help to correct their pronunciation.

2. Listen for main idea.

Teacher plays the record, Ss try to listen and answer the question.

1. How many roses does the speaker has?

2. Did the speaker’s father buy a violin?

3. Read for specific information.

Part 1. Try to find our the sentences are true or false, if they are false, try to correct them.

1. Betty was sad that she was chosen to speak.

2. When Betty made mistakes in Chinese, her friends laughed at her.

3. Betty has learnt to try her best with whatever she do.

4. Betty's father gave the piano to her

Part 2. Read and choose the correct answers.

1.How many groups of people did Betty want to thank?

2.What colour of roses did Betty want to give to teachers?

3.Who bought the piano to Betty?

Step 3 After-reading.
