(1)Free talk

I like Spring Festival, because I can stay at home. What do you?like? Do you like Children’s Day? WhyIn Western countries, there is an important holiday in winter. It’ on December 25th. Do you know? Can you guess? 课件展示,学生能大概猜出这个节日名称---圣诞节,“Christmas”。利用课件或实物呈现本课涉及的单词, Christmas tree, lights, song, Santa,学习本课的四会单词。可以适当提出一些问题,What colour is the Christmas tree? Can you sing a song? Do you like Santa? 等。(通过实物直接呈现,便于学生清楚的记忆,而且把所学融入句中)

(2)结合幻灯片,讨论中国节日春节和圣诞节的异同。如:食物(dumplings, turkey)、风俗(invite family and friends, bring gifts, sing songs)、祝福语等,引出Merry Christmas! (结合图片,学习和圣诞节有关的习俗,锻炼学生口语表达、思维)

(3)Listen to the tape and answer the questions

1. What is Christmas?

2. When is Christmas?

3. Who is Santa?

4. What colour are Santa’s clothes?

(检查学生对课文的理解程度)

Step 3 Practice

1. 自编chant,巩固所学知识

2. 简单的描述圣诞节,给出提示,小组共同完成

Christmas is a (Western) holiday. It’s on (December 25th). On this holiday, people (don’t) go to work. Children don’t (go to school). At Christmas, we have (Christmas trees, lights and Santa). Santa is a (merry man) in red (clothes). Children say he (brings gifts) on Christmas.(把所学用于句中,能够训练学生的口头表达能力,并能发挥小组合作精神)?

1. Listen to a song “Jingle Bells”
