Step 1 Pre-task

Which festival is coming in December?
How do people celebrate Christmas?
Encourage students to have a discussion with their partners and then tell their ideas.
Talk about what presents the students want to get at Christmas.
Invite students to tell the presents that they want to get.
Step 2 While task
Do a game.
Give students 5 boxes and let them to choose. Use pictures to learn the names of some presents and some new words.
Guide to Part B . Let students listen to the dialogue in Part B and then finish the two tasks.
Students listen to the dialogue again and the teacher remind them to pay attention to the pronunciation and the tone.
Encourage students to practise reading the dialogue and then invite some groups to read it in roles.
Guide students to find some language points in the dialogue.
Guide students to make up new dialogues using the useful expressions.
Guide to Part A and use pictures to learn the names of the shops.
Students finish Part A by themselves and check the answers together, then do some exercises to consolidate the names of the shops.
Watch the video about Comic Strips and do T/F exercises. Listen to the computer again and pay attention to the pronunciation and the tone.
Practice reading the dialogue and encourage students to act it out.
Step 3 Post task
Translate some phrases.
