Step I: Warm up and lead in
Play a guessing game : show pictures of animals’ tails and ask questions: Whose tail is it?
Ss: It’s a monkey’s tail
Whose tail is it?
Ss: It’s a rabbit’s tail. It’s a short tail.
Whose tail is it?
Ss: It’s a squirrel’s tail.It’s very big and bushy.

Step II:Skimming
Have a quick look about the story, try to read it ,and try to find what it is talking about.

Step III: Scanning
Show the pictures of each parts.
Let the students guess what they are going to say in the situation and ask some students to act the situation. Then write down the key clue on the blackboard.
Ask some questions about the pictures:
Picture 1: Where do they live? Ss: They lives in the forest.
Picture 2: What are Zac’s hobbies?
Ss: He likes singing and dancing.
What’s the monkey king’s hobby?
Ss: he likes reading books.
