Step 1 Revision and lead-in

T:Let’s have a brainstorm. What sport do you know? Let’s have a competition.

T: Do you love sports?Let me show you some pictures and say the name of the sport quickly.

Where do you do different sports?Look at some pictures and use the sentence”I play...on/in.....”

(Encourage sdudents to answer the questions.)

Step 2 Discussing before reading

Show some pictures of football players and ask Ss to introduce their favourite player briefly.

Game. Write a few sentence about your favourite player without telling us his name.Then other Ss try to guess who the player is.

T:Who is David’s favourite player?

Step 3 Listening and reading

Listen and answer

T: If you want to know more about him. Let’s listen and answer some questions

2. Check the answers .

3. Read after the tape.

4. Encourage the students to ask the teacher questions voluntarily.

5. Practice the useful expressions.

Step 4 Discussing before writing
