【Teaching procedures】

Step one:Revision

Talk about the pets you like and the reasons.

Enjoy some pictures of different animals and simply talk about their behaviour.

Read the riddles and have a guess.

Step two: Presentation

Read an article and try to guess what your teacher’s pet ,what his pet can do.

Learn the new words and phrases.

Learn the rhymes of a poem.

Step three: Practice

1. Let the students talk about the dog’s behaviour

2. Read the first poem and find more behaviour of the dog.

3. Do some exercises and retell the dog’s behaviour according to the key words.

Step four: Presentation

1. Read through the second poem and talk about the behaviour of goldfish.

2. Listen to the poem and try to find the poem rhyme.

Step five: Practice

Have a discussion,talk about your own pets with your partner.

Act your dialogues out in class.

S1:What is your favourite pets?

S2: I like ... best../What about you

S1: Why do you like it ?

S1:Because... What about you ?

Free talk:what can you learn from the poem?

Step six Summary

Revise the pets we talked about again.

Step seven Homework

1.Finish the passage about the dog and the goldfish.

2.Finish the passage with the new words on page 96.
