Step 1 Leading in

Play two videos of schools:

1. T: Good afternoon, boys and girls. Welcome to my class. I’m Mrs Liu. Today we will learn

Unit 1 Dream homes Period 1. First, I would like to invite you to watch a video. Please watch it carefully and then tell me: Where is it?

Ss: Our school.

T: Yes, it’s your school. I think it’s big and beautiful. Do you like it?

Ss: Yes, we do.

T: Look, this is my friend Cathy. She is also a teacher. Now she wants to show us around her school. Do you want to have a look? Ok, let's watch and tell me where her school is ?

Ss: It's in the western country.

T: Yes, watch carefully, this is the flag of America. So she is from the USA (白板放大功能). Can you find the USA in the world map? It has two parts. This is the USA, don’t forget the other part. (teacher circles the USA on the map).

设计意图:播放学生自己学校的视频,让学生有亲切感,激发学习热情。同时引入朋友在美国学校的视频,迅速进入本课主题国家与首都,又让学生感受不同国家间的文化差异。
