Step1 Warming-up and leading- in
Show the students a picture of the Earth, ask them questions
1. What do you think of the Earth? (beautiful. colourful…..)
2. What things are there on the Earth? ( There are….. )
（设计意图：通过问题的提出，激活学生记忆中关于地球的语言知识，是学生快速进入环保话题的情境。）
Step2 Presentation
1. Let students watch a piece of video and answer:
(1) What can you see in this video?
(2) What does this video talk about?
2. Talk about the differences of the Earth now and in the past by asking “Is the earth the same as before? “、 “ What are the differences?”.
（设计意图：通过观看视频让学生了解地球现状：地球为什么变得越来越糟糕，再通过几组图片让学生更清新地知道现在存在的严重问题，为下一步学生进行讨论做铺垫。）
Step3 Discuss in groups and answer
1. The Earth is getting worse and worse, what is the main reason? (people’s bad habits)
2. What do the bad habits cause? (air pollution, water pollution, sound pollution….. ------ natural disaster ------ The earth is in danger.)
3. What should we do? (We should protect the earth.)
4. What should we do to protect the earth? (We should (not) ….)
（设计意图：学生通过讨论可以清晰的知道地球变得越来越糟糕的原因主要是人们的坏习惯所形成的，一方面教育学生不要做破坏的事情，另一方面让学生获得本话题的相关主旨脉络，也激活学生相关的词汇短语。另外学生通过讨论,对照日常行为该做什么和不该做什么，进一步加强环保意识，分享合作学习的结果，使不同层次的学生均有收获。）
