Step 1 Lead-in
We use computers a lot in our daily lives.
Have you ever used computers to search for travel information? What websites have you visited?
Look, this is a website about travelling in Xuzhou. You can see some pictures of tourist attractions in Xuzhou. Can you tell me their names in English?
Show some pictures about the places of interest, guide Ss to tell their names about them.
Ask: Have you ever been there? How did you get there? What did you see and what could you do there?
Step 2 Presentation
I’d like to be your tour guide. Nanjing is a big city in China. Xinjiekou is one of the most important trade centres in Nanjing. There are many big shopping malls and international banks there. There are several places of interest for you to visit in Nanjing. Look at this picture. It’s Xuanwu Lake. It’s in the centre of Nanjing. With a big lake and several large green lawns, it’s a good place to relax after after a hard day’s work. When you visit Nanjing, don’t miss Dr Sun Yat-sen’s Mausoleum. It’s a world-famous attraction. Have you ever heard of Confucius Temple? Every year, thousands of people gather there to enjoy the lanterns. Now pick a plane and start your tour.
