Step 2.Pre-listening

show the Ss the picture of the animals signs.read the horoscope in Part A1 together and get some general information about animal sign .

Show another picture about star signs which are used in western countries. And make students know some differences between them.

Step 3.While-listening

Task1:Listen and finish Part A2

1.Play the recording for the first time and let the students just listen.

2.Play the recording for the second time and let the students finish Part A2.

3.Check the answers together.

Task2:Listen and finish Part A3

1.Play the recording for the third time. Ask the students to finish Part A3.

2.Check the answers together. And then read the article in Part A3 together.

Step 4.Post-listening

Task1: Play a guessing game

Show 2 pictures about Ma yun and myself.Then let students describe the two persons’ personalities and guess their animal signs .

Task2: Speak up

1.Listen to the dialogue between Millie and Joe and finish the table .

2.Read the dialogue loudly together.

Task3:Pair work

1.Make a similar dialogue with your partner to talk about animals and personality.

2.Ask some pairs to present their own dialogues.

Step5. Discussing

Discuss: What decides your personality?

Then draw a conclusion:It is you who shape your life and your future.

Step6. Homework

1.Practice reading the names of the 12 animal signs.

2.Master the new words and phrases that we’ve learnt today.
