Teaching steps:

Step One:Greetings

Step Two:A free talk with the students

1. Do you have any hobbies ?

2. Do you have enough time for your hobbies? Why?

3. Do you have any teenage problems?

4. Who will you talk to about your problems?

Step Three Presentation

Show students some pictures to talk about .Talk about the job of a youth worker.

Step Four:Reading

.Play the tape for the students to listen and answer the following questions

1.What are Millie’s hobbies?

2.What is Simon crazy about?

3.What does Simon like to do after school?

4.How long do they play football?

5.Do Simon’s parents allow him to do so?

6.How does Simon feel about his problem?

Ask students to read the text to answer some more questions.

Then judge some sentences.

Deal with the exercises in the text books.

Step Five Group work

1.Can you give Millie some advice ?

2.Can you give Simon some advice?

Step Six Production

Tell your partners your problems and give advice to each other.

Conclusion: Life is colourful.
