Step 1. Pre- reading

We all know that robots are useful to our daily life.

Watch a video of robots.

How can a home robot help us in our daily life?Let’s talk about it according t to these pictures.

Would you like to have a home robot ? Why or why not?

Look at the man. He is Mr Jiang. He ordered a robot from a robot shop.

What happened next ? Let’s open our books and turn to page 38 and do the fast

reading and then answer the two questions.

Step 2 While reading

Go on doing the fast reading again .

The passage can be divided into four parts. What are the four parts? What’s the main idea of each part? Please do the fast reading again. (教师板书)

Let’s go back to the story for detailed reading.

Read Para. 1 and answer the questions

What’s Mr Jiang’s job?

Does he enjoy his life?

Read paragraph 2-4 and fill in the blanks.

Read paragraph 5 and complete the passage.

Read paragraph 6 and discuss.

Do you think the robot is always good in our life?

Listen to the whole story.

Step 3 Post reading.

Use the information in the story to talk about the good and bad points of having

a robot. ( B2)

try to retell the story according to the contents in the screen.
