教学目标

一、知识目标

To revise the things that robots can do instead of people.

To learn some new words and useful phrases to describe the robot.

To get the general idea and the details of the home robot.

To conclude the advantages and disadvantages of living the home robot.

二、能力目标

To learn to use students’ imagination to know the future life after watching a video of a robot and learning the story.

三、情感目标

To encourage students to love life and to look forward to the future with a robot to do different things for people.

教学过程

Step 1 Lead in

Show a picture of a robot to directly enter the topic of this lesson. Then ask the students:

What is it?

Step 2 Presentation

Per-reading

Show another picture of a robot to lead students to say that robots can do many different things for people. Ask: What can robots do?

Students try to answer the question with the help of different pictures: Robots can play the violin, explore outer space, do dangerous jobs like putting out the fire and working on high buildings, help people with the housework and homework, etc.

Ask students: What else can robots do?

Play a video and let students know more about the things that robots can do.

While-reading

Lead the students know that robot may stop work if it catches a virus to learn the new expressions.

Give two examples to show what will happen when robots catch a virus.

Tell students that robots have both advantages and disadvantages. They can help people a lot, but they can also be too much trouble.

Show two pictures of Mr. Jiang and his home robot.

Play the tape and to guide students to get the general ideas of the story. Try to divide the passage into four parts.

Read and learn the details of each part.

Read and complete a table.

Read and fill the blanks: What did the robot do in the morning/during the day/in the evening.

Read and answer: Why did the robot start to go wrong?
