Step 1 Before listening

Show a notice

T: Students’ Union is going to hold a debate competition next week, the topic is A: The life on earth is better. B: The life on Mars is better. Let’s prepare for it.

Task 1. Free talk.

T: What would life be like on Mars?

Show pictures about the life on Mars and encourage the students to think and express their ideas. (clothes work house food study gravity travel)

T: Our own planet the Earth is getting more and more crowded and polluted and scientists

suggested moving to Mars.

Task 2. Wacth and think.

Watch the news and try to know whether American people willing to move to Mars.

Task 3. Do a survey.

Would you like to live on Mars?

From the survey carried out in our class. the percentage of the students who would like to live on Mars is about____%. After all ,not everyone wants to live on another planet.

Task 4 Listen and complete

T: Daniel wants to live on Mars in the future. However, Sandy is still not sure if she would like to

this week, there is a TV programme on this topic (话题). Listen to the preview. Help Sandy make notes of it.
