Step 1. Warm up and lead in.

1. Sing a song ―Hello, how do you do.‖

2. Daily Greeting.

3. Create a situation:

T: I was so careless that I lost many things. I have their pictures here. Could you tell me what are they? (Show Ss the pictures of objects)

Step 2. Presentation and practice.

1. Present new words and phrases.

2. Let Ss match words with pictures, then finish 1a.

3. Present new sentence structure:

-What’s this?

-It’s a/ an…

-Spell it, please./ How do you spell it?

(Use the small blackboard to show Ss the introduction of ―How do you spell it?‖)

4. Pair work.

Let Ss work in pairs to finish 1b.

Step 3. Consolidation and extension.

1. Listen and circle the things you hear in 1a, then check answers together.

2. Listen again and write the things that belong to Linda or Mike, finish 1d.

3. Role-play

Let Ss work in pairs to act as Linda and Mike, role-play the conversation in 1d.

4. Group work.

Let Ss work in groups of four to make new conversations about the things they know according to the conversation of 1d.
