Rationales for your design
The teaching design is basically based on the ESA (engage, study, activate) teaching method. The details are following;
ESA:
E--Engage: This is the point in a teaching sequence where teachers try to arouse the students’ interests, thus involving their emotions. In our teaching process, the teacher gives some interesting pictures and signs to arouse students’ interests, thus involving their emotions.
S—Study: “Study” means those activities where the students are asked to focus on language (or information) and how it is constructed. In our teaching process, the students use some simple and general sentences to talk about friend and friendship, and then the teacher helps students to polish the sentences, and makes students to talk about body language. The teacher also gives students some examples of body language.
A---Activate:This element describes exercises and activities which are designed to get students use language as freely as they can. The objective for the students is not to focus on language construction or practice specific bits of language, but for them to use any language which may be appropriate for a given situation or topic. In my teaching process, we have pair-work, role-play activity and debate to activate students
